Pets Are Family Grief Group

Too many of us have walked around in anguish and isolation after losing beloved family members who happened to have fur. Well-intentioned people say things like, “It was only a dog” or “She had a good long life” - and expect us to just “get over it.” But grief doesn’t work that way.

Dogs On the Go will offer an 8-week pet grief support group starting with a spring session:

  • Start date will be Saturday March 31st.
  • Registration is required.
  • If registration is cancelled 2 weeks or more before the start date, half the cost will be refunded.

The group will meet on Saturday afternoons from 3:00 - 4:30pm.

The Early Bird fee is $100(up to 2 weeks prior to start date), the full fee (less than 2 weeks prior to group start date) is $160.

All proceeds will directly support the training and placement of assistance dogs.

The group will have three volunteer facilitators:

Anna Evans, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor Anna Evans graduated with a Masters Degree in Counseling from Arizona State University and has been a licensed professional counselor since 1999. She is also a grief therapy specialist. For Anna, it is always a privilege to facilitate therapy groups and witness their transformative power. Anna is owned and loved by two rare breed Silken Windhounds, a rescued Chihuahua cross, and a rescued Rat Terrier.
